Dear Teenage Sara,

Published by

My teenage years were rough. I spent most of them working to help my medically disabled mother pay bills and I gave up on a high school diploma for her. I don’t regret my actions today, however there are things I might have done differently.

If I were to give my teenage self advice, I would say:

You are perfect just the way you are.

Enjoy these years because they don’t last forever.

Learn to make more friends and better memories.

You don’t need a boyfriend and you don’t need approval from your peers.

Shine bright and learn as much as you can.

It’s ok to love reading and learning.

School is more important than making money.

There is so much more that I could say to my teenage self but these are the most important. Our teenage years are so important and I wish I knew that then.

Please give us some feedback and let us know what you think.
